– Before it became my life, this is the year I fell in love with boarding. It’s also the year my father almost lost a few fingers trying to help me build a custom board.
– I caved and bought my first board from the Snowboard Board Shop in Whistler, BC. That board was a Sims Terry Kidwell 165cm. Yes, I still remember it. And yes, I remember every board since.
– My first paid sponsorship. Thanks, Wave Rave Outerwear.
– Virgin Snowboards was born. Some friends and I wanted a snowboard with a twin nose and tail, but couldn’t find anything on the market, so I designed one using a record for the nose and tail shape (sometimes you have to get creative). We began to sell some boards, but the factory we used couldn’t keep up the quality, so we ended up refunding our customers and waving goodbye to Virgin.
– Never Board asked me to ride for them and I got my first Pro Model. Never Board then got sued by Never Summer, so they changed their name to Option. Business, eh?
–Vans Snowboarding asked me to fly to South Korea and help design their first real snowboard boot. It was an exciting time; the program was so new and they were open to fresh ideas (my favourite). I helped design “The Lemming”, which featured The Lace Lock, an idea I got from a pair of runners that gave the boots two different lace up zones.
– I got another Option Pro Model. This time, I took my skateboard and traced the nose shape onto a piece of paper and designed my Pro Model to take the same shape. We also put flat kicks on the nose and tail. These boards were amazing.

– I got my first signature Vans Pro Model boot and founded Iris Eyewear and Trustus Trading with Devun Walsh and Jack W. I also designed Iris’ original logo. It was a busy year.
- I was featured on the cover of BLUNT Magazine. Blunt was a big deal to me at the time, so this was a huge deal.
– Worked on and in the Lil’ Bastards Snowboard Movie.
– Worked on and in the Return of the Wildcats Snowboard Movie.
– Started Wildcats Clothing and Whiteout Films with Devun Walsh, Chris Brown, Kale Stephens, Dionne Delasalle, Chris Dufficy, Dave Cashen, Pete Anderson, Jake McIntyre, Gaetan Chanut and JF Pelchat. To name a few.
- That same year, I also started Endeavor Snowboards with Max Jenke, Scott Serfas, Paavo Tikkenen, Chris Martins and Randy Ross. I left soon after, though, to start a film editing and motion graphics company. HeavyWater Studios became my break-from-snowboarding project.
– I joined Endeavor Design Inc. It was only supposed to be short-term, but 9 years later...
– Became Brand Manager, Head of R&D and Production Manager at Endeavor Snowboards.
– Left Endeavor Snowboards and…
